Reading Tutorial is a small-group (1-3 students), daily tutorial designed for students who struggle with the process of decoding and encoding (reading and spelling), fluency, or reading comprehension. Students are grouped according to their ability level and receive intensive instruction in their area of need, including but not limited to the following: phonological awareness, decoding, encoding, fluency, vocabulary development, morphology, and comprehension skills The curriculum incorporates elements from multisensory, systematic, structured reading programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Slingerland, and Wilson, dependent upon each student’s reading profile.
