Who We Serve
Chelsea School specializes in educating students with language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and other Specific Learning Disabilities. We also consider applicants with ADD or ADHD who have documented academic performance impacts. Our program is not suitable for students with high support level Autism Spectrum Disorder, severe communication disorders, intellectual disabilities, emotional disabilities, or significant behavior concerns. All applicants must have a professional diagnosis to be considered for admission. Chelsea offers rolling admissions, accepting new students throughout the school year.
The Application Process
-
Submit your application with all required documents (see admissions checklist).
-
Application review takes up to three weeks.
-
If your child is a potential fit, we’ll invite them for a two-day visit to shadow a current student.
-
The admissions team will make a final decision within two weeks of the visit.
-
If accepted, you’ll receive information on next steps, paperwork, and transportation arrangements (for publicly funded students).
NOTE: The two-day visit is only for students in active consideration. Families should arrange private tours through the Director of Admissions.
CONTACTING ADMISSIONS
Scheduling admissions calls & tours
Chelsea Knights love to share all the amazing things we are doing here at Chelsea School. Two great ways to connect are via phone or coming on-site!
We highly recommend scheduling a 1hr admissions call with our Director of Admissions- Chloe Grayson to see if the programming at Chelsea is a good fit for your student
OR scheduling an in-person tour to see classrooms in action and get a feel for our community
We DO NOT accept walk-in tours.
Ms. Grayson is eager to connect with prospective students, families and the community. Please use the links below to connect with her:
Financial Aid
Our financial aid is determined through the Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) program. Please note: though we try to accommodate the financial needs of our families, there is no full scholarship currently available at Chelsea School.
If you plan to apply to Chelsea School for the 2025-2026 school year and need financial aid—either as a currently enrolled student or first time applicant—it is highly recommended that you complete the FAST process immediately at the start of 2024. The application will be accessible on January 1, 2025. Please note that financial aid is based on financial need and is provided on a first come – first served basis. There is limited funding available and current recipients of financial aid receive priority. Decisions on financial aid will not be made until after the 2025 tax deadline. Please have tax information entered into FAST by April 15th. Financial aid will be awarded in May of 2025.
For more details on financial aid please contact Jeff Green, Director of Finance, at 240-467-2100 or by emailing questions to jgreen@chelseaschool.edu .
