Extended School Year

Extended School Year, or ESY, is a half-day program offered to students during the month of July. The purpose of this program is to prevent regression in basic academic skills and to promote momentum to carry through to the new school year. Students take part in four academic classes: two reading classes, a math lab, and a writing lab. These classes focus on skill objectives taken right from each student’s IEP.

For publicly-funded students, the determination of approval for ESY occurs at the student’s annual IEP review. For private-pay students, parents may choose to enroll their child in ESY at an additional cost.

Applicants for ESY DO NOT  have to be enrolled in the program to attend.

*24-25 ESY applications should be submitted no later than:

June 2nd 2025

ESY Facts

  1. The ESY school day lasts from 8:30 am to 1 pm
  2. Publicly funded students are transported on their jurisdiction’s school buses
  3. Related services (Speech, Counseling, and OT) are provided during ESY.
