Science Teacher (MS and HS)

Chelsea School is seeking a highly-qualified science teacher for the 2022-23 school year to teach high school Biology, Anatomy & Physiology and Middle School Science. Our science program follows the Prince George’s County Schools curriculum. Chelsea School specializes in educating college-bound students with learning disabilities. Preference is given to candidates with prior special education experience.
Ideal Candidates will meet the following criteria:
Valid Maryland state education licensure (or equivalent out-of-state licensure) in Special Education (or demonstrate eligibility to start the certification process)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent post-baccalaureate graduate credit in education, special education, science or related field
Familiarity with lesson planning based on Common Core science curricula
Knowledge of and experience teaching science topics
Familiarity with a variety of multi-sensory, systematic, structured instructional programs and practices
Experience with IEP implementation; developing and monitoring IEP goals
Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills
