Chelsea School is seeking a full-time, highly-qualified Middle School math teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. Chelsea School serves students with language-based learning disabilities in a college preparatory environment. Chelsea School implements the math goals present in each child’s IEP, and follows the Common Core curriculum for mathematics. Candidates should be familiar with remediation methods and multi-sensory approaches to numeracy instruction. Preference is given to candidates with prior special education experience.
Ideal Candidates will meet the following criteria :
Valid Maryland state education licensure (or equivalent out-of-state licensure) in Special Education, and Secondary Math, or willingness to pursue licensure
Bachelor’s degree at minimum in math, education, special education, or related field
Familiarity with a variety of multi-sensory, systematic, structured instructional numeracy programs and practices
Experience assessing student progress toward achievement of benchmarks goals and objectives
Competence in writing IEP goals and objectives in the areas of mathematics.
Excellent communication and organization skills
